PEG is among the leaders in roofing consultancy in Ontario. Our members have been consulting in roof system since 1991. PEG has assisted hundreds of property owners and has designed roof replacement programs covering all roofing and building types.

Roof water leakage is a challenging task because often the point of entry of water into the inhabited space is usually remote from the defect site. This type of challenge requires not only skilled and trained practitioners, but those with high level of experience. Roof systems are designed to resist a combination of structural, thermal and rain loads. PEG’s water leak investigation is backed up with various tools to track down leaks including; water flood testing, infrared thermography, and tracer dye. When combined with some exploratory work, these tools help us establish the current condition of the roof and determine a prognosis for future performance.

In most cases, deciding on whether to perform selective repairs or to replace a roof is often a challenging task and requires the consideration of many factors ie

  • A full understanding of the sources of leaks.
  • The amount of damage that has already occurred.
  • Can the occupants bear another leak?
  • What extent and severity of damage will occur if a leak reappears or develops in a different location?
  • Can the current leak be reliably repaired?
  • Current financial situation of the owner.

The answers to these issues are all taken into consideration in arriving at our recommendations for repairs or replacement.

Replacement Planning

Once the decision to replace a roof is made, PEG will proceed into the design phase. During the design phase, PEG ensures that every opportunity is taken to improve on the durability and life span of the replacement roof including cost-effectiveness. PEG will also appraise the following:

  • Are there opportunities to improve energy performance that should be assessed?
  • What type of roofing assembly and membrane should be used?

PEG works with the Client through all stages, ensuring that all design decisions are comminuted to the Owner in a timely manner.
